HMS/HSDM Postdoctoral Association
The HMS/HSDM Postdoctoral Association (PDA) is a volunteer member run organization dedicated to improving the postdoctoral experience for all fellows at Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and their affiliate institutions.
The PDA aims to be an agency of advocacy and aid to its members. The association is governed by the postdoc community and the PDA Bylaws.
The purpose of the PDA is to (adapted from the PDA Bylaws):
- Provide representation and connection between its members and the Harvard Medical School/Harvard School of Dental Medicine administration
- Promote the academic and career goals of its members, including training and counseling efforts to assist in career and professional development
- Disseminate information of particular interest or relevance to its members.
An elected governing board meets on a monthly basis to plan social, networking, and career-related events for the postdoctoral community. Events are designed to foster a sense of community among postdocs, provide information on different career options, and provide various networking opportunities. In addition to the governing board, the PDA draws from a much larger group of dedicated volunteers that help to organize PDA sponsored events.
