330 Brookline Avenue Boston, MA 02215 The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Fellowship site is located in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area within walking distance to the Harvard Medical School, the Harvard School of Public Health, and public transportation. The Division of General Medicine and Primary Care is committed to excellence in patient care, teaching, research and leadership. Our faculty and staff enjoy collaborating across our clinical, education, and research programs in our pursuit to provide the highest quality of care possible, to all people. Central themes of the Division include celebrating diversity, caring for underserved patients, and enhancing patient-centered care through collaboration and shared decision-making. The Division encourages and supports professional development and scholarship. The Division is led by Drs. Russell S. Phillips, Division Chief, Mark D. Aronson, and James J. Heffernan, Associate Division Chiefs, and the Research Program is led by Dr. Edward R. Marcantonio, Director of Research, and Dr. Lisa I. Iezzoni, Co-Director of Research. Together, our nationally recognized faculty, biostatisticians, administrative and research staff provide a strong foundation for the Fellowship Program. Overarching themes of research in the Division are Improving Care for Vulnerable Populations, Measuring and Improving Quality of Care, Innovative Approaches to Common Clinical Conditions, and Fostering Patient-Centered Care and Improved Clinical Decision Making.
